Browse our selection and find out more about the benefits and specifications.

Lockout Tagout Padlocks

Padlocks are an essential element in any Lockout Tagout safety solution, serving as the locking system that isolates the source of energy and stops machinery from being activated.

These are available with various types of keying systems, which can be used as part of an effective programme. Most commonly, sites adopt a 'keyed different' system, under which each padlock needs a single, unique key. This allows the padlock system to be as effective as possible, by greatly reducing the risk of it being opened by accident.

Lockout Tagout Hasps

If more than one person is likely to be working on equipment at the same time, then it will usually be the case that more than one padlock will be fitted to an isolation point. If there are not enough lock-out points on the lock-out device, a hasp can be fitted to expand this number and further enhance the effectiveness of the solution.

A hasp is placed through the primary solution point on the locking device and once closed, provides multiple points for authorised persons to place their own individual padlock on the hasp. From that point, the system is locked out until all padlocks are removed.

Gate Valve Lockout

Isolating gate valves is integral in any Lockout Tagout solution, which is where Gate Valve Lockout comes into play. Once the valve is in the correct position, the lock-out can be fitted on or around the valve and locked into place, effectively rendering the valve completely unusable.

If a Gate Valve Lockout cannot be used due to fitting or other restrains, a Cable Lock-out system can be used in its place.

Ball Valve Lockout

Ball Valve Lockout products are designed to be locked over the top of a ball valve in a similar way to Gate Value Lockout, stopping the handle from being turned to make sure the equipment cannot be turned on when it shouldn't be.

Cable Lockout

Cable Lockout are the best option for use on machines that have more than one energy source. They allow all related energy sources to be isolated without the need for multiple devices.

The flexible cable can be used to isolate the energy sources and secured using the grip handle, trapping the cable to make sure it cannot come loose while someone is working on the machine. A single or multiple padlocks can then be used on the grip handle as required.

Electrical Lockout

One of the most important roles for any Lockout Tagout Try-out programme is isolating electrical energy. Electrical isolation points on machines can vary in both size and design. Companies need to ensure they have a range of Electrical Lockout equipment at their disposal.

Most equipment will require an electric energy source to be locked out as part of the isolation programme before maintenance or repairs can be carried out. Within the isolation procedure, there will be specified Electrical Lockouts that will need to be used. Some common examples include:

Lockout Boxes

During maintenance and repair, it's vital that keys and other activation devices are stored in such a way that they cannot be used. Once equipment has been isolated and made safe, keys and other re-activation equipment are locked away in the box to prevent them being used until it is safe to do so. Multiple padlocks can be used to ensure an added layer of safety.

Lockout Stations

Lockout stations provide somewhere to store all Lockout Tagout equipment when it is not in use, providing easy access to equipment to ensure it is used every time.

Lockout stations should be located wherever it is found to be most appropriate for the desired purpose, whether that's immediately next to the machinery, in a maintenance department or at one central point. They layout of the station also means that any missing equipment is immediately apparent, allowing them to be found and replaced quicker.

Lockout Tagout Kits

Our Lockout Tagout kits are designed to cover the most common needs found in workplaces. These kits come supplied in a handy carry case and provide an all-round solution for any site. Lockout Kits are ideal for keeping essential equipment in one convenient place, without the need to return to the Lockout Station.

Lockout Tags

Tags are an effective highly visible way of communicating the status of equipment undergoing maintenance. These are used most effectively alongside Lockout devices to provide details of the Lockout procedure - maximising safety when repairs and maintenance are being carried out. However, if there is no other physical alternative of isolation then Tags may be used alone.

Appropriate tags should be provided by the employer and be fit for purpose. Tags should be:

  • durable and hardwearing
  • resistant to moisture, oils, and other contaminants
  • easy to read and understand
  • identify the person who installed it
  • be attached using a method which is secure that cannot be easily released

In some organisations, authorised personnel have their photo displayed on their tags for speed and ease of identification. This is particularly helpful in larger organisations with many employees or when using sub-contractors.

Tagging Stations

Tagging Stations are an important part of any Lockout Tagout strategy in the workplace as they provide a central point containing many of the needed safety supplies for all your lockout devices, helping workers stay prepared, safe, and compliant.
