Workplace Safety Range

Be ready to tackle difficult weather conditions by stocking specialised products

Extreme weather can create new hazards in your workplace, increasing the risk of accidents and injuries. It is your responsibility as an employer to ensure snow and ice is cleared as soon as possible, allowing employees and visitors to access your site safely.

To do this effectively, you can stock up on specialised equipment which is designed to cope with these forecasts.

De-icing Rock Salt

Our marine harvested white road salt is always of the highest purity, containing over 99.5% pure sodium chloride. Every bag conforms to BS 3247 salt for spreading on highways for winter maintenance, delivering effective results every time. We can supply any quantity of salt you require, including pallet quantities, tonne bags or loose salt.

  • Salt Spreaders

It is imperative to keep areas clear of snow and ice so that they are safe for pedestrians and drivers. Our salt spreading equipment is a quick and convenient way to spread salt - more effective than manual labour as the equipment spreads the specified concentration of salt in a uniform layer in less time. Use Drop Spreaders for paths or areas where restricted spreading or use Spinner Spreaders for mass coverage or larger unrestricted areas.

  • Grit Bins

Our heavy-duty water-resistant grit bins provide a secure place to store your de-icing rock salt or grit, at various points, so you can help to keep roads and pavements free from ice.

  • Snow Shovels

Using snow shovels is a common way to clear paths and access routes to ensure employees and visitors can reach your site safely. For faster results, it is recommended that you choose snow shovels with the widest blade available.

  • Vehicle Accessories

The Road Traffic Act 1988 states that it is a legal requirement to have a clear view of the road ahead before setting off. To stay safe, ensure that windscreens are fully cleared of snow, ice, and mist to allow for maximum visibility. Any snow from the roof of vehicle must be cleared too.

  • Entrance Matting

When people enter your building, rainwater, ice, and snow from their footwear can increase the risk of slips, trips, and falls inside the workplace. To prevent this from happening, ensure you have highly effective entrance matting to both scrape off and absorb ice and snow.

  • Lighting

It's important that your site is well illuminated, particularly during cold weather conditions. The risks of accidents soars. You should regularly check your lighting and always put in areas where there are lots of traffic, pedestrian routes and working areas to allow people to see and avoid hazards.
